Degree project
Projects for degrees in chemistry
The degree project in chemistry is an individual project that you do in a research group or at a company. You will get the opportunity to enter deeply into a subject that you are interested in, and get valuable experience of working with researchers.
The degree project marks the end of your master's programme and is required to be able to apply for a degree certificate. A master's project can be 60, 45 or 30 ETCS credits. For master's projects it is recommended to choose 60 credits, as you have time to really immerse yourself in your project and become more independent, experience that will be helpful for a future career.
The degree project for master's programmes should preferrably be applied for through antagning.se (admissions). However, if a suitable project is found with short notice, or you want to do it over the summer, then it is possible to apply directly to the department. Please note that it is only possible to apply for a degree project directly to the department as part of a master's programme in chemistry, not as an individual course.
Being accepted for these courses is conditional on you fulfilling the entry requirements (as stated in the syllabus for each course, which you find below in the menu) and that you secure the place where the project will be carried out yourself.
Master's Degree Projects
The aim of the degree project is to give students the opportunity to gain significantly in-depth and complementary knowledge in a subject-specific sub area, to provide training in advanced chemical research methodology and the ability to run and implement a limited-scale research project with high independence.
